Please note:  Due to our field being waterlogged, we have had to cancel the Year 2 sports day today (23rd) & Year 6 sports day on Friday (24th).

A very warm welcome to Woodnewton - a learning community. We are a 2 to 11 academy located to the north of Corby, Northamptonshire.

We opened as a new school in 2006 following amalgamation and we became an academy in July 2012.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to tell you about our setting which  includes a Resourced Unit Nurture Group and full access to the Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary Curriculum for children aged 3 to 11.

OfSTED described us as 'a good school with some outstanding features' and 'being at the forefront of educational change and development.' In March 2013 we were delighted to become one of only a handful of schools in the country to be awarded Advanced Thinking School Status by Exeter University.

As a result of our close links over the years with Central North Island Kindergarten Association, New Zealand we are now recognised nationally as leaders in the development of outdoor play provision for Early Years.

We are also members of the International Primary Curriculum community and have achieved the Full International School Award.

We place great emphasis on the service we provide for our local community and see this as an integral part of our partnership with our children and families. We believe that all children are entitled to a world class education that will equip them to become fully participatory members of society. We aim therefore to ensure that our children have access to high quality learning experiences, where emotional well-being, academic achievement, physical development and high expectations are placed firmly at the centre of all we do.
